It's often surprising how the simplest things like adding a note with your little finger, or opening a string in a chord, can create a fuller sound and turn basic chords into something quite different.

The big thing is don't rush it. Take your time to practice a little each day. Build up those callouses and your hand strength. After a few months everything will suddenly start to fall into place.

NOTE: You are never too old to learn guitar! I learned when I was 17 and thought I was way too old since everyone I knew had learned it as a kid. Within a year I had mastered the basics and was in a band and the year after that I was writing music for plays. Playing guitar has had a huge impact on my life and I am so glad I persevered.
